It was nice weather for ducks in Paris this week, ranging from grey and cold to torrential rain, with a few stray snowflakes thrown in for good measure. After living in London for more than a decade I can’t be bothered to carry an umbrella anymore, and don’t mind getting a little wet, but this week even I gave in and carted one about. The new rain coats my aunt sent from Australia for the kids came in very handy and I wished I’d had a set for my tour guests, who bravely kept smiling as we diverted for emergency hot chocolate to warm up little hands.
