It was colourful across Paris this week as piles of golden and red leaves popped up all over the place, gently swept into piles by gardeners, shopkeepers and restaurant owners, sighing lightly at the Sisyphean task ahead for the next month or so. Despite pulling our coats out for play it’s still remarkably warm and I passed the quiet moments waiting for the children to get out of school with my face turned to the sun, soaking up the last bits of vitamin D before the cold and grey that lies ahead.
