In the Jardin du Luxembourg the last of the golden leaves are nearly gone, the gardeners spending their days raking the ground over and over, piling everything up to make mulch for the coming year. It’s frosty in the mornings now as I walk through, admiring the ducks who seem unbothered by the change in weather.
