While in the 8th arrondissement for work I stumbled across Parc Monceau which has been on my ‘to visit’ list since I moved to Paris, so I popped in for a quick stroll in the gardens that have inspired artists such as Claude Monet since the 18th century. One of the few parks where you’re actually allowed on the grass it was filled with families enjoying the sunshine and I spotted at least four birthday parties in full swing with cakes, balloons and children shrieking happily.
