Perhaps you’ve recently begun dreaming of buying a little pied-à-terre in Paris. Maybe you’re considering splitting your time between two countries and want a real place to call home in the city of light, somewhere to fill with treasures found at French flea markets? Well I’m here to help with my new business: The Realistic French Real Estate Consultancy. The premise? You tell me all about your plans to buy a place in France and I’ll tell you not to do it. If you don’t take free advice seriously I’ll happily charge 😉.

Now you might be thinking that’s not very helpful but au contraire, indeed it is. I might save you thousands, I might save you millions, I’ll definitely save you some wrinkles and perhaps your sanity. Don’t do it. I’ve witnessed friends and colleagues go through an appalling number of dramas that aren’t mine to share (think squatters, legal battles, dishonest contractors and worse) but to give you an idea imagine that the rules are set by the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland and your budget only ever drinks the potion to get bigger.
