How are you all going as we head into the holiday season? This year I learnt the fabulous new phrase “spending runway” from Emma Edwards, where “certain situations and emotions can lead us to spend more money as momentum builds” and you could have knocked me down with a feather as the little Tetris blocks in my head fell into place and I computed how this applies to so many situations in my life, Christmas being a big one. I’m so keen to get things done early that I often forget I’ve already organised gifts, then see something that’s just perfect for the right person and add it in anyway, or I pick up bits and bobs here and there and quite purposefully “forget” to add them to the Christmas budget. This year I’ll be more mindfully spending money on the things that are important to me (a huge tree and good food) but will rein it in in other areas. So with that in mind this guide is divided into 5 parts:
How to write to Père Noël and get a reply
What I’m personally gifting
Things I want
Other things I’m not buying but think are great gifts/experiences/small businesses I want to share and support
My favourite stores for gifts
