I got caught out in some torrential rain this week but it was worth getting soaked for the stunning views over the Seine as the clouds created the most incredible light (a literal silver lining?) that played across the water. It also broke the humidity which I’m sure the players at Roland Garros were thankful for.
We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary which confusingly has 2 dates, as our civil and religious ceremonies were held 3 days apart which is quite common in France. This offers twice the chance of forgetting, which I did. The gift for 5 years is wood so I dashed out and paid tourist prices for a little wooden box in the shape of a heart as a gift from the pop-up market that’s currently lining the pavement on Boulevard Saint Michel.
